This is definitely good news!

China is a sports super power.

Hopefully, we can also establish a strong linkage with them soon for sports development in Davao City.

What do you think, Sir Pete?

Hi Pete!

It is well prepared. Maybe you can mention what foreign consulate offices already here including honorary consuls such as Gilbert Go of Czez? Republic and Puyod of the Republic of Palau. And also the existing of Phil.Consulate office here with the rank of Asst Secretary as head. If China will establish an office here even just a Visa Division, there is possible the Indonesian-Chinese of Suluwesi can apply their Visa here for their trip to China! Once Kota Kinabalu will have their direct flight to Davao ,that is another source of apllicants considering KK and Sandakan have many Malaysian Chinese.

Sir Pete,
Chinese Ambassador Li Jinjun was here in July last year. One of his pronouncements (if I got the translations right) was to cause the possible reopening of the Davao consulate.

It might be necessary already because aside from tourism and cultural ties, investments from China is coming in such as in mining, etc.

Congrats by the way for this wiki!

Yup I was present during his visit and passed a Resolution in the 14th council. I am re-writing this Resolution because I was told that our first one did not reach the officials in Beijing. Incidentally, Amb Li Jinjun has been reassigned.
