PROPOSED RESOLUTION

TO ENACT AND ORDINANCE FOR A COMPREHENSIVE LOCAL HEALTH CARE SYSTEM IN THE CITY OF DAVAO

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the local government to promote the health, general welfare and well-being of its citizens;

WHEREAS, there are various health programs and projects being undertaken by the city government such as Lingap para sa Mahirap, and other programs in partnership with the national government, health and medical civil society groups, donor and aid agencies, etc.

WHEREAS, the city government owns and operates hospitals, health centers and health clinics and other health-related facilities;

WHEREAS, the city government pays premiums for health care systems for its employees and indigents;

WHEREAS, there is a need to consolidate all these programs, projects and resources under a comprehensive health care system to maximize its impact as these address the needs of the city and its people;

WHEREFORE, premises considered, be it resolved, as it is hereby resolved, to enact an Ordinance for a Comprehensive Local Health Care System in the City of Davao.

RESOLVED further that copies of the Resolution be furnished the City Mayor, the City Health Office and all others interested for their information and guidance.

1. that public and private schools shall upgrade to at least Level 2 School Health System by Dec.2007, Level 3 by Dec.2008, and Level 4 by Dec.2009
