PROPOSED RESOLUTION

TO FAVORABLY ENDORSE THE PROPOSED IT PARK PROJECT OF LTS MALLS, INC. AT THE 4TH FLOOR OF NCCC MALL MATINA

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the city government to promote information and communication technology (ICT) and the creation of IT Parks to help spur economic development, create employment and generate revenues;

WHEREAS, LTS Malls, Inc. of the NCCC Group of companies wrote a letter to Vice Mayor Sara Z. Duterte dated February 18, 2008, seeking the City Council’s support for its application with the Philippine Export Processing Zone (PEZA) to develop 4,700 square meters of the 4th Floor of the NCCC Mall at Matina as an IT Park.

WHEREAS, the area is envisioned to house business processing offices (BPO) such as call centers to help create jobs and generate revenues to the city government;

WHEREAS, there is a need to endorse the project to the Regional Development Council (RDC XI), Department of Trade and Industry and the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) for proper accreditation and application for incentives;

WHEREFORE, premises considered, be it resolved, as it is hereby resolved, to favorably endorse the proposed IT Park project of LTS Malls, Inc. at the 4th Floor of NCCC Mall Matina;

Resolved further that copies of this Resolution be furnished to the City Mayor, the Regional Development Council (RDCXI), the Department of Trade and Industry, the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), and all others interested for their information and support.
